Wisconsin cities rank high on 'Allstate Best Drivers Report'

Wisconsin’s two largest cities, Milwaukee and Madison, both ranked in the top quartile of the “Allstate America’s Best Drivers Report”.  Allstate Insurance Co. uses its claims data to rank the nation’s largest 200 cities in terms of residents’ car accident frequency.

Last year, Madison ranked 13th best in terms of safe driving and Milwaukee ranked 19th.  This year, both cities have dropped considerably.  Madison drivers ranked 26th in terms of accident frequency, averaging an accident every 11 years.  Milwaukee ranked 46th in the study with its residents getting in an accident every 10 years and 7 months.

The city with the nation’s best drivers was Fort Collins, Colorado.  Residents of Fort Collins are, on average, in an accident every 14 and a half years.
