One injured, one killed in single-vehicle accident

According to the Racine County Sheriff’s Department, a 16-year-old Kenosha girl was killed last week in a one-vehicle crash.

Around 1:16 AM Sunday police responded to reports of a car crashed into a tree near the 3500 block of Taylor Avenue, at Elm Tree Court.

The 16-year-old girl was killed in the crash while the 18-year-old male driver was critically injured. Both were extricated by the South Shore rescue unit.

The male was taken to Froedtert Hostpial in Wauwatosa where he remains.

The Sheriff’s Department believes speeding was responsible for the accident and have not yet determined if alcohol was involved.
