Honda and Subaru have issued recalls totaling over 800,000 vehicles. More than 300,000 Honda Pilots made between 2009-2011 are affected by the recall as well as 500,000 vehicles made by Subaru including 2010-2011 Legacies and Outbacks, 2005-2006 Saab 9-2x, 2003-2008 Foresters, and 2002-2007 Imprezas.

The Pilots are being recalled for a possible seatbelt malfunction that can cause the seatbelts to disconnect from the anchor webbing. The auto manufacturer states that an inexperienced sewing machine operator appears to have not properly or completely sewn the seatbelt stitching. Two cases have been reported of the seatbelt separating from the anchor, though no injuries occurred.

Subaru’s Legacies and Outbacks may have a defective windshield wiper motor that could overheat and possible cause a fire. The other models’ front control arm could break if it becomes corroded, causing the driver difficulty in controlling the vehicle. Two drivers have said they lost control of their cars due to this problem, but no injuries or accidents occurred.
