Two dead in snowmobile accidents

Two people lost their lives over the weekend after crashing in unrelated snowmobile accidents.

A 45 year-old man died after him and five others riding on Beaver Dam Lake suddenly plunged into open water. All six were rescued from the water and four were taken to the hospital, where the man later died. Officials at the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources Conservation strongly urge people to stay off of the lake because it is extremely unstable.

A 58 year-old woman was killed after she hit a tree while riding a snowmobile in Langland County. Officers declared her dead at the scene and do not believe alcohol was a factor in the crash.
