Fox Valley woman gets one year in jail for fatal vehicular accident

Twenty-year-old Fox Valley resident PaKou Xiong was sentenced to a year of imprisonment on Tuesday, August 20 for causing the death of 46-year-old Kimberly resident Jim Weiss in a vehicular accident in July 2012.

The Outagamie judge who gave Xiong the sentence also ordered her to serve five years of probation and do 100 hours of community service for each of those years.

Xiong, who was texting and driving in her car when the accident happened, hit Weiss from behind while he was riding his bicycle down the street. An accident reconstruction initiative showed that Xiong did not even attempt to hit the brakes just as she was about to hit Weiss.

Being injured or losing someone due to another driver who was texting and driving is devastating. Get the help and justice you need in Appleton by calling a lawyer from Habush Habush & Rottier S.C. ® at (920) 738-0900.
