Student Seriously Injured While Crossing Intersection
Posted on Monday, February 7th, 2011 at 8:02 pm
A student at Lawrence University in Appleton, Wisconsin was seriously injured while trying to cross an intersection on the university campus.
The student was walking on the crosswalk and was hit when only one of two oncoming cars stopped at the two-lane intersection. Although no other serious accidents of this nature have been reported, students have often complained of this particular intersection due to cars failing to stop for them as they try to cross.
Signs had been put up by university officials to alert motorists of crossing pedestrians, however, problems still occur at this area of campus between pedestrians and motorists.

Appleton police believe that alcohol was the leading factor behind a three-vehicle crash last weekend in Appleton.
The accident occurred around 2:50 AM on Sunday morning on College Avenue, just east of Lyndale street.
Two people were injured in the crash. One suffered minor injuries, while the other suffered non-life threatening injuries that nonetheless required hospital care.
A number of witnesses saw the crash and one happened to be a doctor, and was able to render aid. Police say this was a lucky coincidence.
