An Amish buggy was struck in a hit-and-run car accident this morning, Friday April 14, around 1:45 a.m. in southwest Wisconsin.

The Grant County Sheriff’s department reports that the buggy was on U.S. Highway 18 near Mt. Hope when it was hit from behind, ejecting both riders.

The sixteen-year-old driver of the buggy suffered severe head and neck injuries while the 17-year-old passenger was uninjured.

The horse that was pulling the buggy has not been recovered.

Deputies are asking for public help in finding the hit-and-run driver.
