How soon after the car accident must I file my claim?

Typically, most insurance companies would like you to file your claim immediately after the accident happens. However, for a number of reasons, many people do not do this. In the state of Wisconsin, you must file your auto claim 3 years after the date of the wreck. However, if the state or local government was involved in the accident, then you have until 120 days after the incident to file certain paperwork.
