Five teens injured in car-train wreck

According to police reports, five high school students were injured last week in a car-train crash around 7:15 a.m. Thursday.

The accident occurred at the East River Road railroad crossing south of Brillion, which does have a rail crossing sign. However, local residents say that the crossing is obscured by foliage and often difficult to see.

Four of the injured students are brothers between the ages of 15 and 18. Three are in serious condition while the fourth is in critical condition. An 18-year-old female who was in the car is in fair condition.

As police investigation continues it will become more evident how much of this is to blame on reckless driving versus confusing or obscured road signs. If you or someone you know has been injured as a result of inaccurate road signs or been in a car-train accident, call the Appleton train accident attorneys of Habush Habush & Rottier S.C. ®, at 800-242-2874 as soon as possible.
