Crash Leaves Teen Dead, Policewoman Injured

According to WKBT, “The Holmen Police Department[,] responding to a fight at Smokey’s Bar in Holmen[,] requested help to control a large crowd of people outside the bar.” Trisha Stratman, Holmen Sherriff’s Deputy, turned her lights and siren on to respond to the call. As she headed north on Highway 35 toward the bar, “she collided with a vehicle going west on County Road OT,” reports WKBT.

The other vehicle’s driver was a 16-year-old student at Holmen High. He has since been identified as Brandon Jennings. Jennings was ejected from his vehicle during the crash. He was taken to the hospital where he later died. The deputy, Stratman, was also brought to the hospital where she was treated for injuries and then released.

Investigators are still looking into exactly what happened in this tragic car accident.
