One Injured in Appleton Car Accident

One person was injured in an Appleton car accident Tuesday.

According to officials with the Appleton Police Department, a motorcyclist was transported by ambulance to Theda Clark Medical Center after colliding with a van shortly before 3:00 p.m. Tuesday. Police say the motorcycle was traveling northbound up the Drew Street hill, just south of College Avenue, when the driver collided with a southbound van that was attempting to negotiate a turn.

“It sounds like the motorcycle might have been exceeding the speed limit,” Appleton Police Department Lieutenant Steve Diedrich said. “I was told the guy has some pretty serious injuries.”

College avenue was shut down for a short time while response crews worked to clean up the scene of the accident.
