Man injured in suspected drunk driving accident

A 25-year-old man was seriously injured in a semitrailer truck accident early Saturday on Highway 41, according to the Winnebago County Sheriff’s Department.

The accident occurred around 3 AM as the man was traveling south on U.S. 41 near Winneconne Avenue. Police say that the man struck the semitrailer truck in front of him before hitting a concrete barrier.

The driver was removed from the vehicle by emergency personnel and taken to Theda Clark Medical Center where he remains today with serious but non-life threatening injuries.

Deputies believe alcohol was involved in the crash.
