Drunken driver to face trial

According to Appleton Sheriff’s Deputies, an Appleton man was drunk behind the wheel at the time of a crash that occurred in October and left four injured.

The accident took place in Oneida around 12:20 AM on October 24. Deputies arrived on Vine Road to find a severely damaged truck that appeared to have rolled over several times before coming to a stop in a ditch.

The 34-year-old male driver of the truck told deputies he had recently left a Kaukauna bar, and breathalyzer tests showed his blood-alcohol concentration to be 0.14 percent.

Four passengers in the truck were hurt and taken to a local area hospital.

This was the man’s third drunk driving offense and if convicted he will face a maximum of 24 years in prison and a $40,000 fine.
