Man dies after being hit by car in Appleton

A 55-year-old man died recently after he crashed his bicycle and was struck by a car in Appleton on N. Richmond Street.

The man was riding his bicycle down N. Richmond street when he crashed it and fell onto the street. An 85-year-old man then hit the bicyclist, causing him to suffer a serious head injury. The man was taken to a local hospital but died shortly after the accident. According to police reports, the 85-year-old man stated that he was unable to avoid hitting the man because it was raining and hard to see.

Police in Appleton are still investigating this accident and no charges have been filed against the driver as of yet.
