UWM basketball player arrested for DWI

Kaylon Williams, the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee’s point guard, was arrested last Wednesday for drunk driving. Williams was in his hometown of Cedar Rapids, Iowa when he drove off during a routine traffic stop. The officer had pulled him over for not having a front license plate, which is illegal in Iowa.

In his escape, Williams slid off the road and tried to get away on foot. K-9 units found the 22 year-old student two blocks away. His blood alcohol level was found to be nearly three times over the legal limit. Police have charged him with drunk driving, driving without insurance, driving without a license plate, and interference.
