Father killed in fatal hit-and-run

A father of eight children was killed in a motorcycle accident last week after a driver of a concrete truck slammed into his motorcycle on Interstate 45. The truck dragged the motorcycle around the corner of the intersection before stopping. Police believe the driver stopped to move the bike out of the road and then continued driving.

Law enforcement was able to find the 60 year-old truck driver after a hotel’s surveillance camera caught everything on tape. Investigators tracked down the concrete company and then the driver. He has since been fired from his job and faces charges of causing an accident resulting in injury or death. If he is convicted he can be sentenced to two to ten years in jail and a fine of $10,000.

Our deepest sympathies are with the family and friends of the victim who died in this tragic accident.
