Dodge police cruisers recalled

Nearly 10,000 Dodge Charger police cruisers are being recalled by Chrysler Group, LLC for defects in the anti-lock break system and low beam headlights.

The automaker believes the headlight defect could stem from overheating problems in the bulb harness connector. The overheating could, in turn, negatively affect the anti-lock breaks, resulting in a loss of electronic stability control and anti-lock break functions.

No accidents or injuries have been reported due to these defects. Only the 2011 and 2012 Dodge Charger model years are affected by the recall. Chrysler will repair the vehicles free of charge when the recall begins in March.
