Woman killed in motorcycle-truck collision

A 48-year-old female passenger on a motorcycle was killed Sunday evening after the motorbike struck a pickup truck making a U-turn. The collision occurred in Geneva at the intersection of Kirk Road and Division Street.

The 50-year-old male driver of the motorcycle and the woman were both taken to Delnor Hospital with extensive injuries. The woman died two hours later, the Beacon-News reports. The condition of the driver, now at Lutheran General Hospital, has not been disclosed.

The 19-year-old driver of the pickup truck was not seriously injured and was treated at the scene. Authorities do not believe alcohol or drugs were a factor in the accident. The cause of the crash is still under investigation.
