One woman killed, another arrested in Fond du Lac car crash

A 51-year-old Plymouth woman is in jail for causing the death of a 53-year-old Fond du Lac woman in a crash that occurred on Highway 23 between Seven Hills Road and County Highway W at 5:30 a.m. on Wednesday, August 14.

According to Captain Rick Olig, the victim tried to take pre-emptive action by driving her vehicle onto the east shoulder of the road when she saw the vehicle driven by the Plymouth woman attempting to recklessly pass a number of vehicles ahead of her; however, the Fond du Lac woman, on her way back into her lane, lost control of her vehicle, causing her to veer into the westbound lane and be hit by an oncoming vehicle driven by a 41-year-old St. Cloud man. She was killed on the spot.

The Plymouth woman, who kept driving, was later found and stopped by police authorities along Highway 151 and Wonser Road in Waupun.
