Woman arrested for hit-and-run, drunk driving

A woman residing in Appleton, Wisconsin has been incarcerated in the Winnebago County Jail after fleeing the site of a car accident that she caused on Sunday, September 8 and spitting on a police investigator.

Menasha police officer Jason Weber said police stopped the car driven by the 44-year-old, who had a child in the vehicle with her, near West Wilson Avenue for leaving a crash at around 7:20 p.m. at South Oneida Street and West Calumet Street. She was taken to a nearby hospital for a sobriety test and a blood draw. She then started spitting at people in the hospital, with the spit landing on a police officer and a security guard at the hospital.

The woman was charged with third-offense operating while intoxicated. She was also cited for hit and run, inattentive driving, and operating a vehicle after the revocation of her driver’s license.
