Three 22-year-olds killed in U.S. Route 51 car-tanker accident

Three individuals were killed in a car-tanker collision on U.S. Route 51 the afternoon of Tuesday, January 14.

According to reports from the Oneida County Sheriff’s Department, their investigation showed that a southbound vehicle in which New York, New York resident Raquel Nunez and Bayfield, Wisconsin local Justine Ringberg were riding veered off into the northbound lanes along the intersection of Highway 51 and Fernwood Road in the town of Cassian. After leaving its lane, their vehicle collided with a northbound propane tanker operated by Jeremy Ritchie.

The crash killed all three individuals, all of whom were 22-years-old. They were pronounced dead at the scene of the accident.

The Oneida County HAZMAT team, police deputies, Emergency Medical Services workers, the Cassian and Nokomis Fire Departments, and the Nokomis First responders were dispatched to the accident site, with Highway 51 shut down along with County Highway K and traffic re-routed to Lakewood and Rocky Run Roads.

Such as tragic accident leaves many grieving the loss of their loved ones, and we at Habush Habush & Rottier S.C. ® send our sincere condolences to all affected by these losses.
