GM issues recall for 1.5 million SUVs

Citing airbag defects, General Motors recalled 1.5 million SUVs on Monday, March 17. This recall adds 1.5 million vehicles to the 1.16 million vehicles that were recalled in February for defective ignition switches.

GM CEO, Mary Barra said the new recall will help pinpoint and fix vehicular problems while protecting consumers.

Barra mentioned that GM’s cars will undergo “intense reviews”, and reiterated that the company will cooperate with any investigation that the government wants to launch.
